Creating a will or trust helps you care for family and friends; sort out investments, real estate, and other property; and reduce expenses for heirs. Your plan affirms not only how your estate will be distributed, but also the kind of legacy you leave for others.
USF is offering a new tool to help you create a customized will. We've partnered with FreeWill, a quick, easy, and free online tool you can use to prepare a will in less than 30 minutes.
And if you already have a will, you can use FreeWill to update your current plan. You can also use the tool simply to document your wishes as you complete your plan with an attorney.
If you’d prefer to go straight to an attorney to draft your will and you wish to make a bequest to USF, we suggest the following language:
I give the (remainder, dollar, or percentage) of my estate to the University of San Francisco, a California nonprofit corporation, 2130 Fulton Street, San Francisco, California 94117, to further the objectives and purposes of the university (or specify the school or program at USF). Tax ID #: 94-1156628.
If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Gift Planning at (415) 422-4751 or email.
